Madar Research and Development is a Dubai Internet City organization established in June 2012 as a knowledge-creating company with two main departments: ICT market research and research-based software development.

Madar Research and Development is a successor of Dubai Media City Madar Research Group (2002-2010) founded by Abdul kader Al Kamli, an authority on information and communication technology in the Arab world, who is often quoted by regional and international media organizations on the digital migration of the region.

To support the Arab Governments' efforts in transforming their countries into Knowledge-Based Economies by promoting a Research and Development Culture with special focus on Arabic linguistics and search science.

Mission

To provide ICT market research and software development services with an R&D team that is capable of creating new knowledge, disseminating it throughout the organization, and bringing it to life through products, services, and systems.

ICT Use Index – 2013

The ICT Use Index covers four ICT parameters: PC installed base and the number of Internet users, mobile phones and fixed lines. The Index is calculated by adding up the values of these four parameters and dividing the sum by the country's population figure. A higher Index score indicates more aggressive ICT adoption in the country under question.
